Facts about hornet
Facts about it's threat to humans and honeybees
Researching about an interesting insect was hard for me, how different does it need to be to stand out above the rest? I searched for "Most Terrifying Insects on Earth" on Google and came a list of terrifying insects that is enough to make me say "Bye-bye Earth". It is scary as hell look at them and it gave me the chills. Finally, I found the perfect one, The Japanese Giant Hornet" or the " Vespa Mandarinia". It is big and scary, just how I like my insects. It may look harmless and cute in the beginning, until you discover the nickname that was given by National Geographic, "The Hornets from Hell". When I got to work into the research about the insect, I was petrified. Seeing the mass murder of honey bees is saddening, and when I showed Bella the video, she was screaming since she was researching about honey bees. Fun Fact: 30 hornets can wipe out an entire honeybee hive consisting of 30,000 bees in just 3 hours.
Rendering the hornet in a 3d format with intense shading proved to be a challenge, but was one that I was able to overcome. Overall, I was satisfied with the results. Yes it did take me a few days and sleepless nights to complete, but it was an experience that I expected the minute I entered The Design School.
