Material Exploration | Part 2

There never seems to have an end of black squares right? Last one, I promise. Anyways after the previous three assignments, this one is to translate two contrasting elements, draw them on two tracing paper and then place them together. This can create a whole new pattern. In this case, I chose order and direction.

Now here comes the fun part, translating it into a another surface. This got me thinking, how do I recreate this on a different material surface that stands out? Various techniques was being thought of, I even thought of using the shaving cream printing method, but shaving cream is expensive, and I ain't gonna waste my precious shaving cream >:( Then comes a breakthrough, I discovered a method called pyrography, which involves soldering my pattern on wood. How freaking cool is that? Here is how it looks like.

PS: I accidentally burned my hand after I finished it, damn you soldering iron!

Therefore, my love for pyrography is born haha.
